Renal Surgery team
Mr William Gietzmann
The Oxford Renal Surgery Group is a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals dedicated to the management of benign and malignant diseases of the upper urinary tract.
In April 2012 we were recognised by NHS Specialised Services (NHS England) as the national referral centre for ex-vivo partial nephrectomy, an operation that we perform for patients with complex renal cancers in solitary kidneys.
We also act as a tertiary referral centre for retroperitoneal lymph node dissection for testicular cancer, IVC tumour thrombectomy and other complex renal cancer surgery.
We have extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery, having performed over a thousand cases to date. In addition, we now use the Intuitive Surgical Da Vinci Si robotic system, to perform a range of robotic assisted kidney operations.
