Our trainees, indeed all our junior medical staff, are critically important in helping us to deliver safe and effective patient care. They work very hard and we are very grateful to them for their invaluable contribution.
Our surgical specialist trainees are from the Thames Valley School of Surgery. They come to us as part of their rotation through different hospitals in the region.
Our 'fellows' are surgeons who have usually completed their training elsewhere and come to work with us to see how surgery is practised in Oxford.
These fellows come from across the world and relocate their families to spend a year with us. They bring with them expertise and experience from their own countries which adds to our own learning and practice of colorectal surgery.
You may meet our registrars and fellows in the outpatient department, or on the ward, where they are instrumental in providing careful and assiduous post-operative care.
