Essential building works at the John Radcliffe (JR) Hospital
Essential works are taking place in the JR Delivery Suite to improve our facilities. We are very sorry for the disturbance during these works, and we will do all we can to support you.
We aim to minimise disruption and keep you informed, but if you have any concerns at all, please talk to your midwife, who can also give you details of the Spires Midwifery-led Unit at the JR as an alternative place to give birth.

About us
Over 7,500 babies are born in Oxfordshire every year. Our vision for every family is to experience excellent personalised care from the right professionals, through pregnancy, birth and beyond. We strive to deliver real choice and continuity of carer.
We are also a regional referral unit for complex pregnancies, and our Newborn Care Unit provides special care for babies in Oxfordshire and across the South East.
We encourage those with low-risk pregnancies to have their babies at home or in one of our five midwifery-led units; however, it is your choice where to give birth, and your choices include the Delivery Suite at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
No matter where you choose to birth, our excellent midwives and doctors work with you and your family to support the decisions you make about your pregnancy and beyond.
