Hepatology@Home
The Hepatology@Home Service provides clinical assessments at home for patients with liver disease, to reduce hospital attendances.
This service is specifically for patients who attend the Hepatology Ambulatory Unit (HAU) who require close monitoring.
The team can perform blood tests, point of care ultrasounds and intravenous medications.
Hepatology Nurse Advice Line
The Hepatology Nurse Advice Line is available for patients and healthcare professionals.
It is available via telephone and email five days a week 8.00am to 4.00pm.
For basic queries concerning appointment delays, scans, prescription requests or to discuss a query with a doctor, it is best to use email.
Details are provided to patients referred to the service.
Alcohol Care Team
The Alcohol Care Team supports patients who are drinking alcohol problematically or dependently, and supports other hospital staff caring for patients who are withdrawing from alcohol.
The team covers the four hospital sites within Oxford University Hospitals, and is strongly linked with the relevant community services.
A Telephone Follow-up Clinic is provided for patients discharged from hospital who need further support.
A direct access Fibroscan Clinic is also provided for patients drinking over the nationally recommended limit and who are referred by their GP.
There is an Alcohol Nurse Advice Line, details of which are provided to patients referred to the service.
