Oxford Liver Unit (OLU), part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, serves as a tertiary centre providing specialist hepatology services at local, regional and national levels, including at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Horton General Hospital.

Our team of specialists delivers Hepatology and Liver Transplantation services, managing both the pre-operative assessment and post-operative care of liver transplant patients in the region.

We maintain a strong partnership with the Transplant Liver Unit at the Royal Free Hospital in London.

Additionally, we have a dynamic teaching environment, encompassing an undergraduate teaching programme and a postgraduate training programme, which includes National Training Number placements in Hepatology.

Oxford Liver Unit has earned Improving Quality in Liver Services (IQILS) Level 1 accreditation and is progressing toward full accreditation in 2025.
