Consultant Nurse
Rebecca Turner MSc, Dip N, Dip Ophth, RGN, NMP
Interim Clinical Director for Ophthalmology
Matron Rebecca Turner joined the Oxford Eye Hospital team in October 1986 as a specialist nurse, following post-registration training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
As of June 2024, Rebecca has been appointed to the role of Interim Clinical Director for Ophthalmology.
She has held ward sister and senior nurse roles, and been Matron for Specialist Surgery since 2007. From 2013 to 2016 she was Clinical Lead in Ophthalmology.
Rebecca was appointed to the role of Consultant Nurse in September 2015. She has facilitated the development of nurse-led clinical practice in the Eye Hospital and is an integral part of the planning committee for a postgraduate certificate in ophthalmic care.
She is a past President of the United Kingdom Society of Ophthalmic Practitioners (UKISOP) (2016 to 2019) and remains an active part of the society which provides practical and theoretical training for Ophthalmic Practitioners.
